Abstract:

Evidences of improvement in automotive industries of Iran illustrate the importance and development of automotive related companies. With regards to previous studies that report mixed results about success and failure rates of implementing quality management system and its effectiveness, this point that if the specific goal of mentioned standard are met or no?, must be investigated in scientific way. In this article that is the outcome of a scientific research, the effectiveness of quality management system implementation in supply chain of S.G.S Co is reported. We use a suitable and honestly method for measuring accomplishment of ISO/TS 16949 goals (continues improvement, defect prevention and reducing waste in supply chain) among Iranian automotive companies that are SIPA GROUP suppliers. The results show that the implementation of quality management system is effective across companies within each goals of ISO/TS 16949 quality management standard. Though research main limitation was access to backstage information of S.G.S Co suppliers, but with regard to cooperation of its directors, we find effectiveness indexes data from approved information of S.G.S Co integrated information system. This situation beside of approving 100% validity, became research value because of providing objective data instead of subjective and qualitative data that commonly used in business research by questioner based surveys
