Nano silica molybdic acid (SMA NPs) was found as a new, efficient and recyclable nanocatalyst, for the synthesis of novolac phenol-formaldehyde resins in excellent yields. Nano-SMA as a novel solid acid was characterized by X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, Energy dispersive X-ray analyzer (EDAX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.
