Abstract:

In this work, miniemulsion polymerization technique was applied for the synthesis of highly selective imprinted nanoparticle polymers using cyprotone as the template, MAA as the functional monomers, and TRIM as the cross-linker in acetonitrile as solvent. The morphology, size and thermal behavior of the particles were determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and DSC analyses. The drug release and binding properties of the molecularly imprinted polymers were also studied. Selectivity of MIPs was evaluated by diffrent mol ratio of polymer that has been synthesised. Controlled release of cyprotone from nanoparticles was investigated through in 1% wt sodium dodecyl sulfate aqueous solution and by measuring the absorbance by HPLC-UV. The results showed that the imprinted nanoparticles exhibited a higher binding level and slower release rate than non-imprinted nanoparticles that is attributed to the specific interaction of cyprotone with imprinted cavities within MIP nanoparticles.
