خلاصه مقاله:
Temperature fluctuations due to poor mixing may cause cyclical thermal fatigue and leakage in T-junctions and piping systems. In this study, theeffect of placing a single sphere at outlet line of a mixing tee is examined. Simulation results show that the placed sphere is able to improve the mixing efficiency and reduce the amplitude of temperature fluctuations with quite low pressure drop. Increasing sphere diameter leads to bettermixing conditions at outlet and reduces temperature fluctuations. Large eddy simulations show that increasing sphere diameter increases pressure drop between front and back sides of the sphere as well
