Abstract:

This article introduces a new weld weight calculating method that makes former calculations more accurate and reliable. It’s based on getting previous calculation results closer to real demanded amountsof welding materials considering real deals of important factors, such as gouging and welding cap in accordance with welder and projectsituations. This factors calculation as per real project samples, shows its important role when project engineers encounter an unexpected factor like over gouging and they are not able to predict these factors. This method specifically works on using macro graphic photos in eachstep of several welding samples. These samples are completely welded based on main project WPS procedure. Then photos of allsteps will be modeled using solid works software considering all details and dimentions. At the end, final results would be comparedwith actual quantities and former calculations. Then certain error modulus would be obtained for gouging process and otherunpredictable factors .These modulus can be used to calculate weldweight for all details with all thicknesses during certain project .In this article SMAW and SAW have been studied as two main kinds of welding process.
