Abstract:

With respect to the limited reservoirs of fossil energy and a sudden increase in the level of energy consumption, a new approach regardingrenewable energies and locating the best sites of those renewable energies is required in close future. Since the reliability on fossil energies is diminished, selecting a sustainable energy is needed in countries located in arid or semi-arid region including Iran because of their high potential in this category. Thus, in this paper, we try to findthe most applicable renewable energy site in Isfahan city which is one of the driest regions in Iran using the AHP and the location scoringmethod. To reach that goal, after introducing Biogas, Biomass & wind energy as our selected choices in continuing our work on them, weutilized AHP method in order to be able to select the best renewable energy in Isfahan in which could be applicable. Then, we utilized theobtained data for further consideration on locating the best region for the selected renewable energy in Isfahan. Subsequently, with using thelocation scoring method, we determine which region could be the best place for that renewable energy facility. However, this point needs to be mentioned that in our paper, the sustainable development prospective in scoring the facility is considered rather than the economic one.
