Abstract:
Deconvolution is an established technique in signal analysis that is used in well test for eliminating wellbore storage effect and increasing the amount of data with constant flow rate in short tests. But from mathematical point of view, deconvolution is an inversion problem method that is very unstable and very small error in data causes great uncertainty in computed results. In this study, synthetic well test models including finite conductivity fracture, horizontal well, homogenous reservoir, radial composite, and constant pressure boundary are generated for evaluation of non-uniqueness in deconvolution method outputs. The results of the deconvolution are compared with standard analytical solutions. Deconvolution method lead to logical and stable results and help to analyze complicate well test data resulted by change in fluid flow behavior or short test.
