Investigating and Organizing the Distressed Neighborhood Jamalzadeh, Area 3 of Region 11 in Tehran City

Old textures in our cities face multi-dimensional, multi-disciplinary and highly complicated problems. Given that it is almost the twelfth year of intervention in distressed textures of the country, good results have not been achieved so far. A lot should be done in this case. Solutions in various fields should be comprehensive, localized and yet diverse. Distressed textures of the country are quite different from other textures in terms of economic, social, cultural and other dimensions. Although what have been done could not be repeated, some aspects could be localized. The society’s attitude towards distressed texture is such that they are considered as the heritage and identity of the city and therefore any change in the texture should be studied in order to avoid any sudden change in the people's sense of belonging. In this study problems of District 11’s distressed textures of are analyzed. Scientific, practical and logical solutions and recommendations resulted from a survey together with accurate information and statistics of the actual situation in the region are also provided.
