Abstract:
g-Al2O3 nanoparticles were coated with polypyrrole via an in situ polymerization reaction.0.1 and 1.0 wt.% of polypyrrole/Al2O3nanoparticles were introduced into polyethersulfone (PES) flat sheet membrane in order to prepare PES nanocomposite membrane.Membranes were prepared using phase inversion method, and the adsorptive capability of nanocomposite membraneswas investigated in removing copper ion from water. It was revealed that presence polypyrrole/Al2O3nanoparticles in nanocomposite membranes could significantly promote copper removal in comparison with pristine PES membrane
