Abstract:
This work describes a new and novel technique for on-line hydride generation using ultrasonic nebulizer for simultaneous determination of As, Sb, Bi, Se, and Te by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). In this technique, hydride gases are produced directly in the spray chamber of ultrasonic nebulizer without using any device such as gas phase separator which is mandatory in classic hydride generation method. A number of parameters that influence the signal intensity and stability have been evaluated for an instrumental setup. Underoptimum conditions, limits of detection were lower than 0.25 ng mL-1 for all analytes with 2% or better RSD. This method improved 56 to 450 times better detection limits than the pneumatic nebulizer
