Design a New Internal Multi-Band Antenna for Mobile Handset Resemblance to NOKIA

A novel compact internal dual-band handset antenna for covering the GSM900, GSM1800 bands is presented. The proposed antenna consists of metal strip, shorting wall, shorting pin, and probe feed-that occupies a total volume of 7mm×27mm×8mm. Proposed structure is resemblance to NOKIA for mobile handset. The antenna structure is fabricated of 2mm metal strip. This structure supported by a frame assembled from FR4 dielectric material (7mm×25mm×8 mm) and foam dielectric (7mm×2mm×8 mm). This frame sits on 40mm×97mm PCB made of FR4 dielectric material with thickness 1mm. The antenna is designed to have an approximately length with a quarter wavelength at lowest frequency. The higher resonating frequency, appear at electrical length equal to portions of the total physical length. Details of the antenna are discussed along with measured and simulated results.
