خلاصه مقاله:
Due to biological and physicochemical properties of poly (-amino acid)s interest in synthesis of their novel derivatives was recently increased. As a new and simple approach, an aromatic poly (-amino acid), poly (AA), was prepared from poly salicylaldehyde (PSA) as a precursor which -amino acid groups formed as pendant groups on the PSA framework. PSA was prepared by a poly condensation reaction, after treatment of salicylaldehyde with chloromethylene group. Transformation of PSA to poly (AA) was done through Strecker synthesis with a cyanide salt. The final step includes hydrolysis of nitrile groups to carboxylic acid through a simple one step reaction. Poly (AA) and PSA were characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR instruments and elemental analysis. Both of PSA and poly (AA) had the melting point above 400 C. Also the number-average molecular weight (Mn) of PSA was 2190 that measured by Warly titration method where polymer was dissolved in pyridine/acetic anhydride mixture and titrated with NaOH 0.5 N as a titrant
