Abstract:

The genus Haplophyllum belonging to the Rutaceae family distributedfrom the Mediterranean area to eastern Siberia. This genus consists of22 species widespread in the Asia to N. Africa. Among the 18 speciespresent in Iran, 9 species is endemic. Haplophyllum tuberculatum isdistributed in regions of central to south-eastern of Iran. The Persianname of this plant is Sodaby and its Baluchi name is Sadaap . It isused in traditional medicine as an antispasmodic, to treat allergicrhinitis and gynecological disorders, asthma and breathing difficulties,and in Baloochestan it is use by women for healing after childbirthailments. This plant is rich from Alkaloids, Lignanes, Glycosides andFlavonoids, etc. The major compounds of this plant are two Alkaloidsnamed Haplophytin-A and B, and the major compounds of essential oilare cis-p-menth-2-en-1-ol and trans-p-menth-2-en-1-ol
