Detergents containing bentonite were formulated in our company, Tolypers, in order to produce more effective products. The application of bentonite clay in a detergent formula provides softening power during the washing process by depositing the clay on to the textile. These products can wash and soften simultaneously. These softening detergents eliminate the need of adding a softener to finale rinse. Bentonite was used as a substitute for builders such as sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) and sodium sulfate in a detergent powder. The performance arameters of substituted composition powder such as foaming, cleaning, softening, bleaching and stain removal were examined. The application of bentonite in liquid and other detergents fully respects environmental requirements and can be so economical
