Distance-based Sense Detection in Web Queries

Finding and extracting required information fom the web is one the main challenges in information retrieval area. Several search engines have designed to perform this task. However, traditional search engines are not efficient in some cases due to their keyword-based approachs. Recently semantic search engines have been designed to respond to this weakness. Discovering the meanings of the keywords is one the main phases in semantic search engines. In this paper we propose a distance based method for keyword sense detection in web queries. We analyze the key parameters and present experimental results which show the high performance of the proposed method.
