Nonlinear and unbalanced loads produce power quality pollution to interfaced power systems. Also, photovoltaic systems implementation could worst the situation without proper functioning of active power filters. Now, available active power filters are suffering from to fully suppress interfaced power grid harmonics and distortions under highly unbalanced and non-linear loads. In this paper, a new approach for combined operation of active power filters and photovoltaic systems under highly unbalanced and nonlinear loads in three phase four wire distribution network is presented. A novel ZA-INC maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is proposed for effective operation of photovoltaic system even under sudden environmental condition variations. Also, a switching topology based on adaptive hysteresis current controller is used to reduce THD under %5 in compliance with IEEE-519 and IEC61000-3 standards. The effectiveness of proposed overall control strategy is validated with MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The simulation results show that the proposed control strategy can inject maximum available power from PV panel into the grid, and simultaneously correcting power factor, load balancing, harmonics elimination, and reactive power compensation under highly unbalanced and non-linear loads.
