Abstract:

Wind power makes up a large proportion of totalelectricity generation in electrical networks, and is also known asthe fastest growing renewable energy resource in the world.Furthermore, global preference of wind power is increasing andtherefore, electricity generation using wind energy will begrowing in the future. In this regard, many large and small scaleswind generation units and wind farms have been utilized inelectric power systems. This paper investigates the impacts ofwind power penetration in electrical networks. Many issuesrelated to the electrical networks such as modelling, control,planning, operation, scheduling, and management areinvestigated and evaluated under wind power penetrationcircumstances. The proposed evaluations, analysis, anddiscussions provide a comprehensive perspective on wind powerapplications in electrical networks.
