The Effectiveness of Combined Reality Therapy and Group CognitiveBehavioral Therapy Approaches on the Cognitive Errors and the Feeling ofLoneliness in Married Women

The present research was carried out in order to investigate the effectiveness of the two approachescombined reality therapy and group cognitive behavioral therapy on the cognitive errors and the feelingof loneliness in 25 to 45 year-old married women who are from Abadeh city. The research method ifempirical with pre-test. posttest, and control group. The population was selected from among theprimary students' mothers who got the highest marks in the loneliness questionnaires and the lowersmarks in the cognitive errors. 24 individuals were selected and randomly distributed into twoexperimental and control groups with each group having 12 subjects. The control group receivedintervention in the form of eight 90-minute sessions, one session a week. Analysis of the results usingcovariance method indicated that combining the two approaches has had significant effect on reducingloneliness and cognitive errors. Following up a month later confirmed the stability of the training effect.Therefore, it can be stated that the combined reality therapy and cognitive-behavioral group counselingwas effective in reducing the cognitive errors of the married women and improved their feelings ofloneliness in terms of romance and their family.
