Abstract:

A novel parallel bat algorithm that inspired from membrane systems is introduced in this study. Previous studies tried to improve bat algorithm by making adaptive its parameters. This study presents a parallel framework to improve bat algorithm. This algorithm uses communication like rules of membrane systems to improve bat algorithm. Furthermore, the algorithm inspires parallel structure from membrane systems. More than one objective function can be evaluated on different cores of multi-cores processor systems concurrently. Simulation results show the introduced algorithm has better performance than previous approaches.
