Design of A Robust and Narrowband Low Noise Amplifier Utilizing Noise Reduction Method For wireless Receivers and Transceivers

A narrow band low noise amplifier using the noise canceling technique is presented in this paper. In the proposed LNA, the noise figure of the LNA is reduced dramatically by using the new noise reduction method. The proposed LNA is simulated with cadence Spectra using 0.18-μm CMOS technology. The simulation results show the highly improved noise performance of the LNA. The output frequency band can be tuned by changing design parameters. It can be variable from 1.8 GHz up to 5.5 GHz. During this frequency band, the noise figure is variable from 1.87 up to 1.38 dB. For the selected frequency of 2.2 GHz, the simulation results show S_21(power gain) of 17.52, S_11 of -8.6 and NF of 1.45 dB. The total Power dissipation is 9.2 mW from a 1.8 V DC power supply. The proposed LNA with the achieved performance is qualified to use in the multistandard wireless receivers.
