Abstract:

In the present Paper an evaluation was carried out that if there are relationship between the time to rupture on Fillet Punch Creep Test (FPCT) results and those obtained from Universal Creep Test (UCT). First of all using the finite element analysis the relationship between applied force and shear stress in the specimen is obtained. Then the repeatability and accuracy of FPCT was examined. In the following FPCTs are done on samples of aluminum alloys at different temperatures and stresses. Then, the experimental results were analyzed using parametric models of creep like as Sherby-Dorn and Power-Law relationship. The results show that the time-temperature parameters also can well predict the FPCT results. Therefore it is concluded that FPCT can be used as a new small specimen method for assessment of creep properties of material
