Abstract:

In the current study freeze casting method was employed to fabricate highly porous gelatin/ akermanite scaffolds. 10 Gelatin(GEL) based nanocomposite scaffolds were prepared a controlled unidirectional freeze casting through blending constant gelatin concentration with Akermanite nanoparticles (AKRNPs). Pore morphology, mechanical properties, and water adsorption characteristics of scaffolds were assessed. The compressive strength and elastic module values was 5.46 MPa, and 2.86 GPa, respectively. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images depicted a unidirectional structure with homogenous distribution of AKR among gelatin matrix.
