Abstract:
In this study, an electromechanical impedance (EMI) model for thin-walled cylindrical shell is developed by considering the interaction between piezoelectric wafer active sensors PWAS and structure. Energy method is used to obtain vibration equation of structure and PWAS. Rayleigh-Ritz method is used to discretize system with mode shapes functions. The impedance electromechanical solutions are derived by applying dual piezoelectric effect and Gaussian equation. For validation of theoretical solution, finite element model (FEM) has been developed. Comparison of results obtained by two methods shows that proposed analytical model has enough accuracy to predict impedance spectrum of structure
