Investigating the Impact of Information Technology on Organizational Effectiveness At Steel Companies in Khuzestan

Given the context which currently dominates the business world of organizations, they haveto make some changes in their attitudes, knowledge, approaches, and procedures so that theybecome ready to satisfy customers. The main aim of this study was to investigate the impactof information technology on organizational effectiveness at steel companies in Ahvaz. Thestatistical population included the employees working at Khouzestan Steel Company,Khouzestan Oxin Steel Company, and Kavian Steel Company. Using Morgan’s samplingformula and the stratified random sampling method, 279 individuals were selected as thestatistical sample. This is an applied-descriptive causal study particularly based on structuralequation modeling. A researcher-made questionnaire and statistical analysis methods,applying SPSS 18 and LISREL 8.5, were employed to evaluate the research variables. Theresults of analyzing the questionnaire indicated that information technology (and relevantcomponents such as awareness, skill, application, and knowledge) had a positive andsignificant impact on organizational effectiveness.
