In the present research, hexagonal Boron Nitride Nano particles are used in Ni-P coating to reach wear resistant behavior for contact surfaces. To investigate the wear properties of proposed coating, several standard POD i.e. Pin on Disc experiments are implemented. Results analysis yields to friction coefficient, wear parameter and wear regime determination, as well as wear track dimensions and characteristics. Using evaluated parameters with respect to Archard’s wear model, calibrated numerical FEM based model is developed in ABAQUS. Two distinct methods are implemented in order to wear process accurate simulation i.e. GIWM and FEM. In FEM based method, the ALE adaptive re-meshing technique is used together with UMESHMOTION Fortran subroutine. In whole approaches the good accordance with experimental results is observed. However the FEM based method is more accurate while lower computational efficiency.
