Systematic examination and identification of Leiognathidae family in Waters of the Persian Gulf.

Based on studies carried out during 2000-2002 about leiognathidae family (Panjzari fish) a series of sea excision in waters of the Persian Gulf, with use of Tour Teral, took place. After catching Samples and their collection form deck they were examined for identification based on sex separation and with use of identification keys. In total 1225 fish being caught. With regards to the above studies, 4 species of this family ware identified. Leiognathus bindus species was in greatest supply and comprised 79% of the total catch. In the second place was Leiognathus lineolathus which comprised 18% of the total catch and in the third place was Leiognathus equulus which comprised 2% of the total catch and in the last place was Leiognathus fasciatus which comprised 1% of the total catch.
