Boron Biology from Plants to Fish to Prevention of Prostate Cancer

Baron is essential for plants and deficiencies are a major reason for crop failure wordwide. Baron is a consitituent of all food plants and the average intake in the U.S is about 1 mg B/day. We and others have shown that baron is required by lower vertebrates and reduces the risk of human prostate cancer. Recent advances in our scientific understanding the mechanisms reponsible for baron's essential and beneficial roles will be presented.
