Towards GREEN CONSTRUCTION for Sustainable Development

In the field of Architecture, the duty is to link the Built Environment with Nature. Green is the term used to describe environment friendliness and sustainability , a concept of meeting the present needs without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their needs, Buildings and township should be so designed as to consume high technology but low energy. The pre-construction ,on-construction and post-construction energy construction activity converts green into grey. Choice of construction technology , appropriate level of environment impact assessment, monitoring of environmental parameters along side the construction progress environmental specification in contractual documents and self-reliance to fulfill environmental obligations by contractors itself are the key factors in the environmental management within the construction activities.
