The desert lands are always referred as unsuitable lands in the land use system, but concerning its capacity to produce the non-fossil energy resources of solar and wind energy; nowadays they are considered as a treasure. To assess the capacity of dry lands, there are many methods: inthis regards, remote sensing data have versatile utilities in the study of thermal energy and solar resources. This report evaluates the solar resources in the Desert, Iran. In other words, the research aims to assess three solar radiation parameters, including Direct Normal Irradiance(DNI), Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI), and Global Tilted Irradiance. Therefore, the usage of solar energy of desert land is a gold key to the sustainable development in the future. Furthermore, to locate a suitable site of a solar system for a solar park, remote sensing data willhelp in the Geographic Information System.
