Abstract:

Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles of various shapes using the leaf and flower extract of Boraginaceae Anchusa is reported. This is a simple, cost-effective, stable for long time and reproducible aqueous room temperature synthesis method to obtain a self-assembly of Ag nanoparticles.. Appearance of yellow color and peak at 425 nm in UV-vis spectrum confirms the Ag NPs formation. Antimicrobialactivity of Ag NPs showed better inhibitory activity towards E. coli and Bacillus subtilis compared to other test pathogens using standard disc diffusion assay and well method.
