Abstract:
Asphaltene deposition is one of the problematic aspect of petroleum production imposing serious damages and costs on this industry. Plugging of the pores of reservoir's rock, pipelines, and other process equipment such as pumps is part of serious problems caused by asphaltene deposition. In recent years many scholars have been seeking for innovative and environmentally friendly strategies to preventasphaltene precipitation. In accordance with this purpose, in this study we investigated the effect of NiO metal oxide nanoparticles in order to mitigate the asphaltene precipitation rate and postpone the onset point. According to experimental results, it was concluded that NiO metal oxide nanoparticles can be utilised as an agent for inhibition of asphaltenes deposition while being compatible with the environmentat the same time
