Abstract:
In a pot experiment impact of various inorganic and organic nutritional sources on improvement of soil chemical properties was studied. Saline sodic soil (saturation percentage = 40.36%, ECe = 5.15 dS m', pH = 8.70, SAR=18.84 (m mol L') , bulk density = 1.49 g cm’) was collected, brought to wire house and filled in pots after chemical analysis for various parameters. Chemical analysis of various organic materials like farmyard manure (FYM), press mud, compost, poultry manure and sesbania green manure was made. The experiment consist of 12 treatments replicated thrice; T1control (recommended NPK), T2- % recommended NPK, T3- FYM (a) 1.5% by soil weight, T4pressmud (a) 1.5% by soil weight, T5- compost (a) 1.5% by soil weight, T6-poultry manure (a) 1.5% by soil weight, T7- sesbania green manure (a) 1.5% by soil weight, T8-T2+FYM (a) 0.75% by soil weight, T9-T2+ pressmud (a) 0.75% by soil weight, T10-T2+compost (a) 0.75% by soil weight, T11-T2+poultry manure (a) 0.75% by soil weight, T12-T2+sesbania green manure (a) 0.75% by soil weight. After an appropriate time for the decomposition, organic treatments were applied using completely randomized design (CRD). Wheat seeds of Sahar–2006 cultivar were sown. After harvesting the wheat, soil samples were collected from each pot and analyzed for various chemical properties like pHs, ECe and SAR. It was observed that application of all organic materials improved the pHs, ECe and SAR of soil. All collected data were analyzed statistically.
