Abstract:

Murovdag Horst Uplift can be characterized by a number of deposits and ore manifestations which are potentially copper-, molybdene-, lead-, zink-bearing area and other economic minerals. At present Goshkarchai, Goshgardag, Elbekdash, Jamilli and other groups of porphyry copper and copper multimetal ores are found within this uplift. Goshkarchai OMS is the more perspective among mentioned ore sites and that’s why study of geological and genetic features of porphyry copper ores of Murovdag horst uplift is exemplified by this deposit. Goshgarchai ore magmatic system (OMS) being the component of Lok-Garabagh Paleoinsular arc, occupies NW raised area of Murovdag horst uplift asymmetrical structure which consists of rocks from the Lower Bajocian volcanogenic series in core and the Upper Bajocian and Bathian series of basalt-andesite-rhyolite successively differentiated formation on slopes. Goshkarchai complex of granitoid intrusions (Goshgardag, Ojagdag, Balaja Goshgardag) and their dyke formations are the intrusive components of OMS which cut a thick complex of effusive-pyroclastic formations causing the contact influence on them. Intrusive complexes with porphyry copper mineralization on geological-petrological properties refer to gabbro-dioritegranodiorite formation of the Late JurassicEarly Cretaceous. By Goshgarchai deposit example factors of copper concentrations are revealed in massives of gabrodiorite-granodiorite formartions. The specific peculiarity is matrium prevailing over potassium and high alumina content. Typical elements of intrusive are Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, Mo. Dyke formations spatially connected with these intrusive chiefly are roots of outflow of the Middle Jurassic lava and can be characterized by various petrographic composition. Dykes of gabbrodiabase, diorite-porphyrite, quartz-diorite-porphyrite are prevailing. They extend in north-east (10-80 ) and north-west (280-340 ) trending, by width 0.3-3m and length 25-250 meters.
