This paper proposes a novel speed and current control scheme for permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) based on terminal sliding mode control (TSMC) theory. To design nonlinear TSMC is defined tow nonlinear surfaces sliding base on dynamic model errors in the speed and current of PMSM. In the design TSMC, It is assumed that the parameters in both PMSM and load are considered uncertainties and state variables are available for feedback. In the TSMC law, to come into problem of existential phenomenon chattering is a neutral effect, which to eliminate the phenomenon chattering is used the saturation function. Too, the Lyapunov stability theory is utilized for analysis of stability in the tow nonlinear surfaces sliding of TSMC presented. Besides, in the vector control of PMSM to reach a sensorless speed control PMSM drive system by using the Back-EMF voltages is utilize extended Kalman filter (EKF) theory for estimated rotor speed and position, for this purpose the principle of the EKF is reviewed and adapted in the equations stationary reference frame of PMSM model. The simulation results patently are shown that the error speed along current control, converge to zero, despite the parameter uncertainties and load torque disturbance variation, that the simulation results present by using MATLAB/Simulink.
