In this paper we considered different types of bioreactors and their uses in biotechnology and their selection. Each design of the bioreactor is explained shortly and some investigations are exposed in each section. Also some of their applications in lab scale and industrial scale is mentioned and advantages and disadvantages of each one tried to brought here and compared respectively. This article will discuss the key engineering issues in bioreactor design and operation
