The weakly bound fusion reactions are studied by modifying the double folding model in the interior region. Using this modified potential, including nuclear matter incompressibility effect, the fusion reaction cross sections and suppression parameters are calculated for different fusion systems. The results show that applying these effects at energies near the Coulomb barrier improves the agreement between the calculated and experimental cross sections
