At present, hydrogen is used mainly in a chemical industry for production of ammonia andmethanol. In the near future, hydrogen will become a significant fuel which can solve thelocal problems connected with an air quality. This paper examines potential methods of hydrogen production using renewable biological sources and effectiveness. Biological methods is including direct biophotolysis, indirect biophotolysis, photofermentation and dark fermentation. This study is presented to highlight the importance of biological hydrogen production for practical applications and that In the near future, biological method can be used.
