Abstract:

The structure of power stations mostly depends on their type and the amount of electricitythey could produce. Their structure could be included several different separate buildingwhich placed near each other. The main aim of this work is to study how Soil-StructureInteraction could be affected by depth of foundations especially in cases which severalbuildings placed near each other. In this study the foundation of the main building placedat different depths in soil than the adjacent buildings. This study explores Soil- StructureInteraction effect caused by changing depth of each building under the blast loadingwhich is calculated by use of ANSYS, a computer program in field of finite element, formodeling and analyzing a tree dimension model of a power station. Results show thatchanging in depth of foundation in such cases would cause significant change in Soil-Structure Interaction and seismic effects caused by explosion. The results are includedpositive and negative responses due to different situations
