Locatingdata centers witha crisis outbreak approach using theGeographic Information System (GIS): A Case Study ofHamedan city

When we surf the Internet and use different kinds of Internet services,we have the role of a client, and the computer which provides us withservice through the network is called the server or service provider. Theworld of the Internet is shaped through the connection of millions ofclients and servers. As the most important factor when receivingservices on the Internet, is the sustainability of the server, particularlocations are made around the world which are called data centers tostore the servers, and with a focus on network quality and supportingthe required components and software, provide the conditions in aspecialized way for web hosting and using the servers away from themultiple problems and issues concerning it. Therefore, data center is aplace which has the necessary facilities and requirements to operate andrun servers, and it locates hundreds or thousands of servers in differentrooms. The process of selecting its location is very important due to itslarge application in today’s world so that at the time of a crisis outbreak, the servers don’t get damaged and do not lose theirperformance after the crisis. In this study, Hamadan city is selected andstudied on as a model of database location, in order to locate datacenters. On this basis, within the framework of a descriptive-analyticalstudy, after determining the effective factors in the location of datacenters with a crisis-based approach, the criteria and indices understudy were given weights according to the experts’ opinions.Subsequently, through the ANP model and Arc GIS software, the layersproduced by each criterion combined with each other on the basis of theweights given to each, the output of which is phase space zoning map ofHamedan offices for building data center facilities.
