Accurate simulation is vital for the proper design and evaluation of any computing architecture. Researchers seek unified CPU-GPU simulation frameworks that can model heterogeneous architectures. In this paper, after reviewing GPU architecture, we present a survey of GPU simulators with emphasis on heterogeneous, unifies CPU-GPU simulation platforms. We also review GPGPU-Sim, a simulator platform for GPU because of its main role in heterogeneous simulators.
