Scan Blindness and Size Reduction of Infinite Phased Array of Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antennas with Dielectric Cover

A method of moment spectral domain analysis of infinite phased array of rectangular microstrip patch antennas with dielectric cover, Radome, is presented. Results of reflection coefficient magnitude with emphasis on scan blindness phenomena and active input impedance for various dielectric cover permittivity and thickness are provided. Using high permittivity dielectric cover, it is shown that for the same resonant frequency the size of the patches can be reduced.
