A Comprehensive Literature Review of Enterprise Resource Planning over Cloud Computing Infrastructure

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are enterprise-wide software packages that provide fully integrated business processes using a common database. Despite the many advantages the ERP software implementation is an expensive activity, time consuming and with high probability of failure, thus the small and medium companies can barely afford it. So businesses need a new form of IT deployment. In this way Cloud Computing is a paradigm and known commercially viable for many enterprises according to its flexibility and pay-as-you-go cost structure, particularly in the current climate of economic difficulties. Presenting various services at different layers is a major distinctive of Cloud systems. So the Cloud ERP solution is becoming a beneficial way to use both advantages of ERP and Cloud Computing simultaneously. In this paper we tried to describe the Cloud ERP after a comprehensive literature review over ERP and Cloud Computing. Also the implementation of ERP on Software as a Service (SaaS) has been studied by details. And at the end the conclusion addresses to summary for implementation of all these details.
