As the Hydraulic Fracturing operation is becoming the most applicable method to extract the oil and gas in most of countries and also it is useable to increase the rate of petroleum production, some environmental impacts of this method are being more visible. Here, this is planned to discuss more about the effects of this operation on the environment specially drinking water resources. By reviewing the potential impacts like penetration of hydrocarbon into the water aquifers, it is suggested to use the cutting edge technologies to have geological studies on the reservoirs which are going to be drilled before start drilling, constructing good well integrity in case of leakage between the casings and aquifers. Moreover, applying saline water is appropriate way to prevent the water pollution.
