Mild steel is widely used in store tanks, petroleum refineries, and so on. The main problem ofusing mild steel is its dissolution in acidic solutions. Acid solutions are widely used forremoval of undesirable scale and rust in many industrial processes. Among the commerciallyavailable acids, the most frequently used one is hydrochloric acid. Inhibitors are generallyused in these processes to control metal dissolution as well as the consumption of acid[1,2].In this work we synthesized new thiosemicarbazone Schiff base ligand and investigated it'sHCl corrosion inhibitor property for mild steel. it can be seen that at inhibitor concentrationseven as low as 50 ppm, this inhibitor shows high inhibition efficiency so, can be regarded asa promising practically efficient inhibitor for mild steel in 1M HCl solution
