Abstract:
Operational Amplifiers (Op-Amp) are one of the main sectors of analog and mixed signal systems commonly used in closed loop configuration. DC Gain of operational amplifiers has a large effect on circuit accuracy. In this paper a two-stage fully differential low voltage and low power operational amplifier is presented which is based on CMOS inverters. The proposed amplifier can be used in the first stage of 10-bit, 100 MS/s pipelined analog to digital converter. The suggested amplifier along with split miller-compensation improves amplifier performance including DC gain, GBW and stability. The proposed amplifier was designed in 180 nm CMOS technology and supply voltage of 1.2V. The key amplifier parameters such as DC gain, unity gain frequency (UGF), PSRR and the power consumption were calculated. HSPICE simulation results indicate DC gain of 68 dB, unity gain bandwidth greater than 200 MHz and the power consumption of 124 μW
