Abstract:

This paper presents a new type of robust controller called RISE (Robust Integral of the Sign of the Error) feedback to control chaotic system in the presence ofdisturbances. This controller is inspired from 2nd order sliding mode while it can control system with different relative degree.Also, its chattering is acceptable in comparison with conventionalsliding mode strategy. This control scheme is based on limited assumptions on the structure of the system nonlinearities. In thisnote, RISE controller is implemented on the chaotic pendulum systems. The capability of the proposed method to controluncertain 2nd order nonlinear system is rendered with lyapunovbased stability analysis and the performance of this scheme iscompared with 2nd order sliding method. The simulation results endorse the proficiency of the RISE feedback strategy
