Performance Assessment of TTC-CPM FDE-OFDM Waveforms for Narrowband and Wideband HF Military Communications

this paper presents Turbo Trellis Coded Continuous Phase Modulation (TTC/CPM) based on Frequency-Domain Equalized (FDE), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) structure for wireless High Frequency (HF) communication channel. The proposed structure also includes the pilot-based Minimum Mean-Square Error (MMSE) estimation andequalizationmethod. This approach combines the advantage of the frequency diversity of turbo code and energy efficiency of CPM modulation. In this paper, the analysis of the proposed model was simulated and the results shows the proposed coded-modulation scheme achieves promising performance over both narrowband and wideband channels.
