Distribution Network Planning with Optimal Application of Distribution Static Compensator Using New Antlion Optimizer

In this paper for planning of distribution network to improve the voltage profile and reduce the power losses, the distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) is applied. In this study is used a new antlion optimizer (ALO) to determination of optimal location and size of DSTATCOM in 69 bus IEEE radial distribution network. The best candidate buses to install the DSTATCOM is identified using a loss sensitivity analysis that this factor is resulted the reduction of computation time and increasing the optimization speed. The simulation results show that the optimal application of DSTATCOM in optimal location and capacity is reduced the network loss considerably and also is improved the network voltage profile. The obtained results show that the ALO has better performance compared with PSO, that it showsthe superiority of the proposed optimization method
