Abstract:
Myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the important causes of mortality in all populations.Some herbal drugs have been utilized for the treatment of MI. This research was designed tostudy the cardioprotective effects of Semelil (ANGIPARS™), a novel herbal drug, in malerabbits. Twenty-five New Zealand white rabbits were randomly allocated into five groups:control vehicle; sham; sham vehicle; ischemia vehicle; Semelil 10 mg/kg. Ischemia wascreated by complete occlusion of Left Anterior Descending Coronary Artery (LADC).Semelil drug was intraperitoneally injected for two weeks in the treatment group. Functional,Biochemical, and histological investigations were used for discovering protective effects ofSemelil. Based on our information, Semelil ameliorated the ECHO pattern. In addition,treatment with Semelil amended levels of serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase, serumglutamate pyruvate transaminase and Cardiac troponin T comparing to the ischemia group.Morphological data revealed that Semelil could keep cardiomyocyte against myocardialinfarction abuses. The results indicate that Semelil has cardio-protective effects that may bemediated by anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects.
