Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the students' lack of interest in vocational and technical and work and knowledge fields in the city of Natanz. Regardingpurpose, this study is applied and in terms of methodology, it is a descriptive survey. The targetpopulation included 500 male and female high school students of grade one and second gradestudents whose majors were humanities, natural sciences, mathematics and physics in the city ofNatanz in 2015 and by using Cochran formula, the sample size was Estimated 217. Data collectionwas done through a self-made questionnaire with 30 questions and simple random samplingmethod was used to collect data relating to the questions. Validity of the questionnaire was achievedby the supervisors, specialists and experts in management and exploratory factor analysis test.Reliability was obtained by Cronbach's alpha index of 91%. In this study, the students’ opinionswere obtained, first, based on the theoretical and experimental records relating to influentialfactors in lack of interest in vocational and technical and work and knowledge fields and thenby a 5-point questionnaire based on Likert scale. Then, by using single-sample T-test and SPSSsoftware, the influential factors in the students’ reluctance toward vocational and technical and work and knowledge fields were studied. With respect to fact that for all factors, t was more thanassumed mean (3) and two-sided significance level was less than 5% (0/05> p), it was shown that allfactors (including social, economic, familial, educational and personal) were higher than theaverage for the reluctance of the students in vocational and technical and work and knowledge in the city of Natanz. Then, by using the Friedman test, the questions of each factor were prioritizedbased on their importance and their role.
